These are my recommendations for food and restaurants in Vienna:

1- Cafe Central

Cafe central is a beautiful cafe in the heart of Vienna. It has a beautiful classic interior with great selection of cakes and desserts and of course nice coffee.

Address: Herrengasse 14, 1010 Wien, Austria

2- Griechenbeisl

Probably the best food we had in Vienna. It’s a traditional Austrian restaurant (I read somewhere it’s the oldest one) with wooden walls and very cosy interior. If you get there, try beef goulash and the Schnitzel. Also it’s best to reserve a table prior to your visit as it’s a very popular spot in Vienna.

3- Hungry Guy

We found this restaurant accidentally when we were so hungry after couple of hours of wandering around the city. It’s a Greek style restaurant and they serve amazing burgers in pitta bread. The exciting part is they make their pittas in the store in front of you. They also serve non burger choices such as stews and salads.

Address: Rabensteig 1, 1010 Wien, Austria

Figlmüller is a must in Vienna if you like Schnitzel. They’ve been making the same schnitzel for 110 years and the recipe is still same today.  The schnitzels are gigantic and they are made to perfection.

5- Erich

One of the best Sunday brunches ever! If you are looking for an amazing brunch place with exciting options, you should visit Erich. They also know how to brew a perfect coffee!

6- Mullers Heuriger

If you like to visit a vineyard and try Austrian wine, you should visit Wien Grinzing neighborhood. It’s a little town in the suburb of Vienna (20 min by car) that is full of little local wineries. Mullers Heuriger is one of the wineries that also serves local produce such as bread, cheese and ham. If you ever visit this place, don’t forget to try their house red wine.
