Panorama Resort and Spa at Feusisberg, Switzerland

We are going through a lot these days in the world. The whole of humanity is fighting with a global pandemic. This disease is impacting many of our lives and it is a super stressful time for many of us around the world. Today I want to write about one of my relaxing experiences to remind you all that this situation with COVID-19 is temporary and you will soon be able to experience the great things in this world including a relaxing spa trip in beautiful Switzerland.

Switzerland is my favourite country to travel to especially during winter when I can see the Alps in white snow. A few weeks back in February, I was invited to one of the greatest Spa hotels: The Panorama Resort and Spa located in the beautiful region of Feusisberg near lake Zurich.

Panorama spa and resort is located in Feusisberg that is about 40 minutes drive from Zurich airport. The location makes it perfect for a weekend spa trip as there are regular flights from London (or other cities in the UK) to Zurich every day. The hotel as 102 luxurious rooms and suits. The resort has two in-house restaurants: The contemporary Thai restaurant “Loy Fah” with the stylish Mangomoon Sky Bar on the top floor and the “Collina” that offers a fine dining experience. The spacious Akari Spa includes a wellness and a spa complex with a beautiful view of Lake Zurich.

Spa Facilities

The best feature of Panorama Resort and Spa is The Akari Spa which includes the spa, which is freely accessible to hotel guests, with indoor, outdoor and whirlpools, seven different saunas and steam baths, foot whirlpools, relaxation areas, a spacious outdoor area and a professional fitness center.

A delicious spa buffet with a selection of fruits,tea/coffee, juices, finger food and pastries are available for the whole day for free for Spa users so you don’t need to worry about anything while you enjoy your relaxing time in Spa. The infinity pool overlooks the Lake Zurich and that is rated the best infinity pool in the world by Trivago. The pool temperature is 35 degrees which makes it perfect to enjoy even in cold weather.

The Room

I stayed in the Asian suit that has has a big bedroom with a beautiful view of the lake Zurich to wake up to.  The room had everything we needed from a super comfortable bed, a nice mini bar, a working desk and a comfy sofa set.

It also has a massive bathroom with a beautiful bathtub and a separate washroom and a wardrobe.

Without a doubt, Breakfast at Panorama Resort and Spa is one of the best breakfast I have ever reviewed in the hotels. The champaign breakfast is served at the in-house restaurant with a relaxing view of the lake every morning. There are almost everything you wish on offer including eggs, bacon, and sausages, as well as fresh fruits, fresh juice, cereal and various bread along with local dairy and farm products.

Every Sunday, Loy Fah restaurant becomes a popular brunch spot and they serve brunch until 2pm so you will have plenty of time to enjoy a lazy Sunday. You can find all the wonderful food options either in the menu to order or in the buffet table and not to forget, champaign is also served with your brunch!

What can be better than a spectacular food right after your relaxing spa? Loy Fah is a recently opened in-house Thai restaurant at Panorama Resort and Spa. Designed by the Thai star restaurateur Chef Tammasak Chootong , it aims to give you a great experience of the journey through Thailand. This modern and Chic restaurant offers a wonderful tasting menu along with varieties of best wines from different regions including Thailand.

As part of our tasting menu, we tried the following dishes:

  • Medium grilled Black Angus stripes marinated with Isaan-herbs from North-east Thailand, spices, lychees and quinoa sticky rice
  • Spicy Thai green papaya salad with grilled Black Angus stripes
  • Traditional hot and sour “Tom Yam Goong“ with lemongrass and black tiger prawns – “Tom Kha Hed“ cappuccino with galangal root, coconut broth, Thai herbs and mushroom
  • Braised beef cheek with Massaman sauce, coconut gnocchi, edamame bean salsa & cashew nut crumbles
